Uninstall blabe for Windows

Sign out, uninstall blabe in Windows Settings, and clear what it left behind if you want a clean slate.

1. Sign out first

Open Settings → Account in blabe and click Sign Out. Do this before you uninstall: removing blabe through the Microsoft Store or Windows Settings doesn’t sign this PC out, because Windows doesn’t let the app clean up after itself.

Signing out doesn’t free this PC’s place among your 3 devices. Free it in your Polar customer portal. Uninstalling blabe doesn’t cancel your subscription either; cancel it there too if you want to.

2. Uninstall

  1. Choose Quit blabe in the blabe menu.
  2. Open Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find blabe, click … and choose Uninstall. You can also right-click blabe in the Start menu and choose Uninstall.

This removes the app and its Launch at login entry.

3. Remove blabe’s entries from Credential Manager

blabe keeps three entries in Windows Credential Manager, under Windows Credentials → Generic Credentials. They stay after you uninstall:

  • blabe/session-v1 is your sign-in. Signing out removes it.
  • blabe/device-id-v1 is an ID for this PC that stays after you sign out, so signing in again later reuses this PC’s place.
  • blabe/trial-id-v1 is the random ID that limits this PC to one free trial. It holds nothing else.

To remove the first two, delete them in Control Panel → Credential Manager → Windows Credentials, or run these in Terminal:

cmdkey /delete:blabe/session-v1
cmdkey /delete:blabe/device-id-v1

Removing blabe/device-id-v1 doesn’t free this PC’s place: if you install blabe again afterwards, the service counts this PC as a new device and it can take another of your 3. Free the old place first, as in step 1. Keep blabe/trial-id-v1 if you might use blabe on this PC again: it keeps your free trial continuous, with the time and minutes you have left. If you delete it, blabe creates a new identifier when it next needs one.

4. Settings and logs

blabe keeps your settings in %APPDATA%\blabe and its logs in %LOCALAPPDATA%\blabe\logs. If either blabe folder is still there after you uninstall, delete it. Paste the path into the File Explorer address bar to find it.

blabe keeps no recordings, transcripts or history on disk, so there’s nothing else to delete.
