1.0.2
First public release
October 2, 2026
The first public version of blabe: hold one key, speak, and let go.
Added
- Hold the key and speak, and your words are pasted where your cursor is, as you said them. Clean up speech removes “um” and “uh”, and you can turn it off.
- Transcription is included. blabe’s own service sends your audio to Microsoft’s MAI-Transcribe 2 and returns the text, so there’s no account or API key to set up anywhere else. The service doesn’t keep your audio or your words.
- Press Fn+Return to send one dictation to a supported coding agent, or turn on Send automatically to coding agents. blabe never presses Return at a shell prompt: if it can’t tell what is receiving your words, it pastes them and stops.
- Choose Fn, Right Option, Right Command or Right Control as your hotkey, pick a microphone and a language, and add your own words. A welcome window walks you through the permissions.
- If pasting fails, your words stay on the clipboard, and Copy Last Transcript in the menu brings back the latest one.
- With Accessibility granted, Escape cancels a dictation without reaching the app you’re in. Typing, clicking or starting another dictation cancels a pending send.
- Runs on Apple silicon and Intel Macs with macOS 14 or later.
